Breakfast Soap Bar
A beautiful range of handmade luxury soaps from Tanaka.
The Breakfast Bar is an ode to oats—a celebration of oatmeal’s magical properties that work for both oily and dry skin. Our skin’s most important function is to provide a barrier between our bodies and the environment that surrounds us. Oatmeal normalises our skin’s pH levels, which strengthens the skin’s barrier function. With an abundance of avenanthramides, anti-inflammatory and antioxidant compounds, oatmeal soothes dry, irritated and itchy skin, whilst simultaneously drawing excess oil from blemish-prone skin. Fragrance-free, this bar is the ultimate all-rounder: moisturiser, cleanser, skin soother and anti-inflammatory agent.
100% natural, cruelty-free ingredients
No SLS, parabens, palm oil or synthetic chemicals
Allergens | Limonene (which naturally occurs in essential oils.)
Lather the soap in your hands and apply generously to the face and body. The soap is gentle enough to be used every day. To ensure your bar lasts longer, keep it dry between uses by placing it in a dish that allows air to circulate and water to drain away. Most of the bars share the same base of olive oil, coconut oil, shea butter, mango butter and castor oil. Highly pigmented natural ingredients are used to add colour and the soap is made in small batches and is left to cure for 4 weeks.
About the designer...
Founded in 2019 by Leonara Manyangadze, TANAKA is a handmade soap brand. Tanaka (n.) [tah-nah-kah] is a Zimbabwean Shona name, meaning we are good, and it is this sentiment that guides their mission. They make bars of soap to benefit skin health and boost wellbeing and, in doing so, rid the world of plastic waste. The bars are made with a unique blend of butters and oils, which results in highly conditioning, moisturising soap that forms a creamy lather and stable bubbles. The formulations are rooted in nature and influenced by the founder’s family and friends—be it a skin concern they might have, a specific ingredient they love or a texture they desire. They use highly pigmented natural ingredients, such as spirulina, French Pink Clay and activated charcoal, to create beautiful hues. They don’t add any artificial colourings and are committed to using only 100% natural, cruelty-free ingredients so you won’t find any SLS, parabens, synthetics or palm oil in the products. Each bar is made, cured and packaged in London with intention and care. The bars are wrapped in semi-transparent glassine paper (non-toxic, plastic-free, compostable) and sealed with a sticker made from FSC-approved paper.
